Convenient shuttles to and from the water
Shuttling vehicles, kayaks & canoes on the river is the process of arranging transportation for yourself, vehicles and equipment between your starting and ending points on a float trip. Here at Y Cabins we specialize in float trips in the Norfork, Arkansas area. We have drivers to help transport your vehicles and gear between put-in and take-out points. This is a convenient option, especially if you are unfamiliar with the access points or cannot do your own shuttling.
Here are a few tips for getting started:
Plan Your Route: Research put-in and take-out points with parking availability before your trip.
Safety First: Always prioritize safety. Let someone know your float plan, wear a life jacket, and check weather conditions before heading out.
Leave No Trace: Secure your kayak properly to avoid it becoming adrift and littering the riverbank.

Drive yourself
Lock and Leave your Gear
This is a common method for solo paddlers or groups with one vehicle.
- First, drive to the put-in with your kayak. Secure your kayak to a sturdy object (tree, pole) with a cable lock to prevent theft.
- Next, drive your vehicle to the take-out point.
- Call and arrange a pick up time. We can meet you at the take-out and give you a ride back to the put-in point.
This method is the least expensive since we only supply you with one driver and our shuttle vehicle.
Get a lift
Lock and Leave your Vehicle
- First, call Y Cabins and discuss your float and we will schedule two of our personnel to pick-up your vehicle at your put-in location.
- We will deliver your vehicle to your take-out point.
- We will pre-arrange payment and hide the keys where you tell us.
This shuttle requires two of our drivers and our shuttle vehicle.
